It was lovely to be reunited with the Wishing Well tonight after what felt like a very long time (that’s winter for you!!). It’s been such a long time since we did any work in their garden, and it was nice to be back and to be impactful at the same time.
It was equally wonderful to have Karen and Maurice back from their recent Parkrun tourism and I enjoyed hearing about some of the things they got up to on their fantastic trip.
It’s fair to say that we had our work cut out this evening… Maurice set to work with the mower after Gill had kindly got us off to a good start before we even arrived. It really was a case of one man went to mow a meadow! ;)) While Maurice mowed, Karen set to work on clearing the raised beds of all the weeds, and Nicola weeded the path. We probably didn’t achieve as much as we would’ve liked, but we definitely made a big difference. And by not finishing it all, at least it gives us an opportunity to go back for another visit!
Once we’d packed away our tools, we walked down to the Town Square to have a look at the Manchester Bee Monument....A monument which has been produced from guns and knives in an attempt to reduce violence with weapons. It really was a sight to see and really impressive.
Well done Karen and Maurice on completing another fantastic task. You’re both amazing.
Wishing Well.... We'll be back!!
Have a great week. Lots of love Nicola xxx

It was an interesting evening, as I was without my lovely friends tonight, but, all was not lost as I found some new friends as I set out on my pre-task exercise session. I did a couple of laps of Queens Park and while I was walking, I spotted all kinds of lovely wildlife including goslings, squirrels, geese, swans, and rats! I don’t think I’ve ever seen as much wildlife in the park before!!
After spending some lovely time in the park, I started to deliver some of the junior parkrun leaflets. It’s really not so much fun delivering leaflets on your own, but I cracked on and hopefully, junior parkrun will get some sparkly new first timers as a result!
Well that’s it for me for this report, because when you’re on your own, there's really not an awful lot to say… Lol!
Have a great week, everyone.
Lots of love Nicola xxx

Tonight, we returned to Motherwellto help with sorting more bras, so strap in while you read tonight’s report!
I know I regularly make a reference to the weather, but this is England after all! It had been a beautiful sunny day all day today, and just as we were due to meet for our task, the heavens opened! But luckily for us, it went as quickly as it arrived and we were able to enjoy our pre-task walk without any rain!
Karen , Maurice and Nicola headed down towards the park – which is something we often do when we are at Motherwell for a task but why not, when we have such a lovely Park on the doorstep!
We walked a brisk lap of the park before heading back to start our task.
The lovely Kate met us and gave us our job for the evening. We continued with sorting the bras that had been donated for the Motherwell bra fitting service. Kate told us that she had given out 46 bras to homeless women this week. What a wonderful thing to be able to do.
As always, it was a pleasure to support Motherwell with this task and we had fun and a good laugh as we worked. Evenings spent with lovely people doing things that help to make a difference in the community is always a win-win.
Well done, my amigos, you are amazing ❤
Have a great week. Lots of love, Nicola xxx

We couldn’t have started tonight‘s task in a nicer way, than walking around our lovely Queens Park. It was a lovely light (but definitely not warm!) spring evening and the park was busy with families, people walking their dogs, runners and strollers. The Park had a lovely atmosphere to it. it was a really nice walk and lovely to catch with ** Karen and Maurice**.
Once we'd finished our walk, we headed out with our ** Junior parkrun** leaflets and set to work in dropping them through doors. We want to let as many people as we can know about this fantastic free event that takes place every Sunday in Queens Park at 9am for 4-14 year olds.
Since we’ve been delivering these leaflets, junior parkrun has had a regular stream of first timers each week. I’m not entirely sure that we can take all the credit for this, but it’s nice to think we may have played a part ;)
In total, we clocked up 6.4 km tonight between our walk and leafleting! Not bad going!
Well done, Karen and Maurice. You did an awesome job tonight!!
Have a fab week!
Lots of love Nicola xx
