Waltham Forest Report written by Ruby Daly
After a shake start (GoodGymmers arrived earlier than the organisers!), roles were assigned and then the wait began for the walkers to arrive at the halfway point where the three of us made encouraging sounds, waved pompom and directed the walkers onwards. Everyone was in good spirits (despite a few getting lost...) and really pleased to be part of a fundraiser that raised over £30,000. Note for next time: take mosquito spray! The forest is alive!!

Another session where GoodGym heroes light up the Food Bank with smiles, laughter, and a brilliant idea—plus some seriously cool plastic bag origami!
Straight from Parkrun we all brought some infectious energy and those light bulbs moments (literally)!
Bags filled and packed ready for delivery for those in need. In speedy time, all deliveries were ready. Another food bank session in the bag!
Before we departed and thanks to Linda's expert demonstration we tried our hand at some plastic bag origami! Forever practical and this time very tidy, all reusable bags were packed away neatly.
See you next time!

Written by Sharon Graham,
I arrived fashionably late after work when the temperature had cooled down and most of the work had been done. I was left with sorting the soups and writing the numbers clearly on the bags. As you can see from the pictures all the goodgymmers had got stuck in despite the heat and kept on smiling. Linda and I stayed late to wait for drivers, a few came and went and we left for Linda to make her way home with a very local delivery and some well earned dinner.

Not sure exactly what makes these branches Special, but who are we to question Marian's judgement!
So when the call came asking Goodgym for some muscle, we were happy to come and meet Marian to sort out the branches she sourced to be delivered to the different locations needed.
Linda, Elegia & James tackled the transfer of the big log to the roundabout, while Peter went to find the other branches to be moved from the green to the gravel garden.
Fashionably late arrival Julia managed to dodge a haphazard trip around Wanstead to try and catch up with the different transports and spend some quality time with Marian instead, 'networking'....
The 2024 account of Wanstead Community Gardeners X Goodgym has its first entry!
