Lewisham Report written by Bromley runner
Mark had been to the task before so knew exactly what we needed to start on- we spent an hour putting together drawers and screwing in handles while chatting with Mr P about life, society and remaining positive in tough times.

Massive shout-out and big props to Nick who joined the 100 club tonight. That's a lot of time doing stuff to help out community projects that need a hand. Nick has been a GG Bromley member as long as I have and I'm so pleased he's in the team. Nick gets a fresh 💯 tee with wings. 🦅 Woooop!
Right, let's see how many Nick puns we can squeeze into a run report! Sorry in advance...
All in the nick of time...
Tonight we were helping out Bromley Borough Food Bank. They have a unit in the Glades for people to donate. It was looking a little shabby so our job was to add a lick of paint to freshen it up.
Nicksand
We divided up the initial tasks of sanding, taping and laying down bin bags to protect the floor in preparation for the paint.
Another nick in the wall
There were plenty of little sticky bits on the wall and some paint coming off in places but it was all looking much cleaner before...
Nick 'n' mix
Paint mixing time! We were each equipped with brushes and rollers and got to work high and low.
Another Nick of paint
We might need to go back to add another layer but it definitely looked way better when we left.
Nice work team!

Tonight's session was a Tiny Forest sandwich with two lovely jogs either side.
We kicked off at The Bridge House. Everyone took a guess at the number of people who signed up for the London Marathon this year. 840,000. Molly won. That's more than 1% of the UK population which is a crazy statistic.
Anyway, next up we split in two. Cat led a longer run and we all congregated at the Tiny Forest in Cator Park.
It was looking pretty well mulched but Millie assured us it needed more.
The mulch pile was a fair distance away, so we took turns wheeling and filling up with the good stuff.
I'll be bark.
After a good 45 mins we'd covered half the Tiny Forest and left a decent pile for the other half of the trees. We might even be back to spread a little more next week. We'll see.
Nice job, team! And shout-out to Sarah for joining the Bromley crew for the first time 🙌
